These three islands, Baengnyeongdo, Daecheongdo, and Socheongdo, are the northernmost inhabited islands of South Korea. Baengnyeongdo features stunning geological formations like Dumujin and Sagot Beach, home to unique sand (silica) and a landing strip used during the Korean War. It's also the habitat for spotted seals, a protected species. Socheongdo is known for its lighthouse and Bunbawi, a limestone formation yielding to the ocean's waves. Daecheongdo offers sites like Noyeo Beach with its unique sedimentary rock formations and the Seypoongbaji Cliff. Accessible via a circular daily ferry, these islands showcase a remarkable blend of history and natural beauty, with cultural and ecological treasures that reflect Korea's rich maritime heritage.
