Rice consumption in South Korean households is decreasing as more people opt for ready-to-eat meals and convenience foods. Although processed rice products like instant rice are becoming more popular, they are not sufficient to offset the overall decline in rice consumption. In response, strategies to promote new forms of rice consumption and increased export of Korean foods like kimchi are being considered.
