Original Birkin Bag Auctioned for 130 Billion Won

The original Hermes Birkin bag once owned by the late British singer and actress Jane Birkin was auctioned for approximately 130 billion won (135 million USD) in Paris. This birkin bag was specially made in collaboration with Hermes CEO Jean-Louis Dumas in 1985 after a chance meeting with Birkin. Initially sold to raise funds for an AIDS charity, the bag has been auctioned again by a collector known as 'Katrin B'. Such Hermes bags typically fetch higher prices in the resale market.
