The Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will conduct weekly onsite inspections of seaweed distribution and processing companies starting February 5. This initiative aims to ensure smooth supply and stabilize the market prices of seaweed, an essential side dish in Korean cuisine. A reporting center will also operate to prevent illegal stockpiling and distribution disruptions. The first inspection will take place in Mokpo, with a focus on dry and seasoned seaweed.
