McDonald's Korea is introducing its new 'Iksan Sweet Potato Mozzarella Burger' as part of its 'Taste of Korea' project, which focuses on using locally sourced ingredients. This burger features a beef patty, topped with a croquette made from sweet potatoes grown in Iksan (a city in South Korea), filled with mozzarella cheese and accompanied by jalapeno mayo sauce. The 'Taste of Korea' initiative, started in 2021, aims to incorporate unique regional specialties into limited-edition menu items while supporting local farmers. Previous successful items include the 'Jindo Leek Cream Croquette Burger', which sold 500,000 units in its first week. McDonald's Korea has achieved cumulative sales of 24 million units under this project and used about 800 tons of local produce. The efforts have earned McDonald's Korea a national agriculture award and recognition in advertising awards.
