This article highlights the unique aspects of Disneyland that make it a travel destination, while comparing it to South Korea's top theme parks, Lotte World and Everland. Disneyland has become renowned for its strong brand identity and storytelling through its own intellectual properties (IP) like Snow White and Frozen, generating a dedicated fan base. In contrast, Korean parks often rely on collaborations with foreign IPs and lack the same level of loyal fandom. Efforts to create homegrown IP and storytelling have so far been insufficient. The article suggests that building sustained fandom could make South Korean theme parks major tourist attractions, akin to Disneyland.
