Korean mountaineer Uhm Hong-gil, renowned for being the first to summit all 16 of the Himalaya’s highest peaks, has now dedicated his life to building schools in Nepal. Instead of seeking new mountaintops, he’s focusing on aiding communities in the valleys. Through the Uhm Hong-gil Human Foundation, he has helped establish 20 schools, benefiting 7,800 children in remote Nepali areas. The film 'Himalaya' depicts his relentless efforts and his commitment to honoring the Himalayan spirits by enriching the lives below the mountains. Amidst environmental concerns about the Himalayas, Uhm continues to merge climbing with compassionate service.
