Korean Whisky Distillery "Ki One" Gains Global Recognition

Ki One, the first Korean single malt whisky distillery, has made waves internationally by winning in the top three global spirit competitions. Located in Namyangju, South Korea, Ki One harnesses the unique Korean climate with extreme temperature variations to mature its whisky rapidly. The distillery aims to introduce distinctly Korean flavors, drawing inspiration from local spices like those found in gochujang (Korean chili paste). The founder, Do Jung-han, plans to establish Korean whisky as a global brand by highlighting its unique characteristics. Challenges such as tax laws that hinder the growth of the Korean whisky industry are also addressed.
