Large Taegukgi with Citizens' Signatures to Commemorate 80th Liberation Anniversary in Korea

The Seoul Craft Museum is marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation with a participatory event involving 80 citizens and descendants of independence activists. On August 16th, participants will inscribe messages of hope on a giant Taegukgi (the national flag of Korea) using traditional patchwork techniques. This initiative seeks to connect historical independence aspirations with contemporary civic commitments. The completed flag will be displayed on the museum's outer wall until the end of August. The project also includes a lecture on "Crafters Who Cried Independence," highlighting historical figures who contributed to both Korea's independence and craft heritage.
