Korean National Ballet's 'Kylian Project': Munch's Dance of Life and Mozart's Humor

The Korean National Ballet presented a performance titled 'Kylian Project' at the GS Arts Center from June 26 to 29. The performance featured three renowned works by Czech choreographer Jirí Kylián. The first piece, 'Forgotten Land,' evokes Edvard Munch's 'The Dance of Life' with its somber reflections on human existence. The second piece, 'Sechs Tanze' (Six German Dances), uses humorous and grotesque elements set to Mozart's music to break conventional ballet stereotypes. The final piece, 'Falling Angels,' explores complex emotions through synchronized group dances accompanied by Steve Reich's music, inspired by West African ritual sounds. This event showcased Kylián's choreography, which explores intricate human psyches.
