K-Musicals Set to Shine on Global Stage Starting with Tokyo Showcase

The popularity of Korean creative musicals, known as K-musicals, is gaining international traction following the recent Tony Award victory of "Maybe Happy Ending." In this vibrant backdrop, the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) showcased its original production "After Life," receiving rave reviews from Asian buyers due to its compelling exploration of life, death, and memory. November will see the Tokyo showcase of "Oji-ge Fun Girls" as part of the K-Musical Roadshow in Tokyo, organized by Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This musical, inspired by a documentary and essay about elderly women rediscovering joy through learning to read and write, will introduce Japanese audiences to this uniquely Korean story.
