Jeongdong Theater's 30th Anniversary: Leading The Globalization of Traditional Culture

Seongsook Jeong, the director of Jeongdong Theater, announced plans to globalize traditional Korean culture as the venue celebrates its 30th anniversary. The theater, known for encompassing diverse genres like traditional, musical, and classical performances, will feature a strengthened lineup of traditional shows in 2025 under the 'K-Culture Series.' Notable performances include a reinterpretation of 'Simcheongga' called ‘Dansim’ and a music drama adaptation of Lee Cheong-jun's work, 'Seopyeonje: The Original.' Additionally, the theater is planning reconstruction to enhance its facilities, scheduled to start in the latter half of next year, with completion by 2029. Jeong credits their growth and success to their adaptability and continuous evolution over the past 30 years.
