The 23rd 'Nim-ui Chimmuk' Calligraphy Competition was recently judged at the Chuncheon Culture and Arts Center. Song Iseul's Chinese character calligraphy '卽事 (As One Sees and Feels)' won the Grand Prize, earning ₩5 million ($3,800 USD). Judges praised the work for its graceful calligraphy strokes and balance, capturing the spirit and philosophy of Manhae (a Korean Buddhist monk and poet). Winning works, which showcase deep artistic dedication and training, will be displayed until September 9th in Inje. This event is organized by Inje County and the Manhae Festival Committee, with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry sponsoring. The award ceremony takes place on September 4th, 2025.
