Song Yi-seul Wins Presidential Award at Korean Calligraphy Competition

Song Yi-seul, a 37-year-old calligrapher from Siheung, Gyeonggi province, has won the grand prize at the 23rd Korean Calligraphy Competition, held in conjunction with the Manhae Festival in Gangwon province. The judges praised Song's work for its balance and harmony, highlighting the graceful strokes and dynamic form that conveyed energy and poise. The competition, organized by the Gangwon Dominilbo newspaper, celebrates excellence in traditional Korean calligraphy (the art of beautiful handwriting).
