Junohair, Korea's largest hair salon brand, is set to be acquired by Blackstone, the world's largest private equity firm, valued at over 800 billion KRW (Korean currency). Under the leadership of its founder, Kang Yoon-sun, Junohair has grown into a prominent brand in Korea, with over 180 stores and 3,000 employees. The acquisition is inspired by the success of K-beauty (Korean beauty), and expected to accelerate Junohair’s international expansion. Junohair manages all its salons directly and maintains over 250 long-term employees. The acquisition follows similar high-profile moves in the beauty industry, such as the purchase of the Korean beauty brand, Stylenanda, by L'Oreal.
