Guide Published to Enhance Response to Electric Vehicle Fires

The National Fire Research Institute and the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers have collaborated to release an updated guide to effectively respond to the increasing occurrence of electric vehicle fires. The guide, set to be distributed to fire stations nationwide, includes step-by-step procedures based on vehicle structure and battery fire characteristics. It also incorporates results from battery pack fire experiments and covers response strategies for commercial electric vehicles like trucks, handling high-risk scenarios, and applying special firefighting equipment.
