Sejong Cultural Center, located near Seoul's Gwanghwamun, has transformed from a space associated with elitism into a welcoming venue accessible to all citizens. An Ho-sang, the president of the center, emphasized the importance of balancing daily life with art, aiming for the center to be a cultural hub for every Seoul citizen. By introducing the 'Sejong Lounge' in the lobby, a relaxing area filled with cultural arts books, the center has attracted wider audiences through diverse in-house productions. Instead of solely relying on external productions, the center has been utilizing its affiliated artistic groups such as the Seoul City Ballet and Opera to create various programs. These efforts have resulted in record-breaking revenues for the center in 2023. More changes are on the horizon, with plans for a second Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul's Yeouido Park and a major renovation for its 50th anniversary in 2028.
