The Abel Quartet's Lengthy Beethoven String Quartet Performance Series

Starting on July 5th at the IBK Chamber Hall in the Seoul Arts Center, the Abel Quartet will embark on a seven-month journey to perform all 16 string quartets composed by Beethoven, including the 'Grosse Fuge,' totaling 17 pieces. The first concert will feature Beethoven's String Quartets Nos. 1, 6, 11, and 12. The quartet, consisting of violinists Yoon Eun-sol and Park Soo-hyun, violist Park Ha-moon, and cellist Cho Hyung-jun, has previously performed Mendelssohn's complete quartets successfully and won the Porsche Frontier Award at the Seoul Arts Awards. Known for their expertise in both classical and romantic repertoires, they continue to pursue new challenges by covering Beethoven's comprehensive work. The performances will be held intermittently until February 2024.
