A recent study by the Ministry of Science and ICT in South Korea revealed that over 55% of food delivery app users engage in 'multi-homing,' using two or more platforms such as Baedal Minjok, Coupang Eats, and Yogiyo. About 15% of users access all three major platforms. Subscribers who pay for regular delivery service memberships order on average 12.7 times, which is nearly double compared to non-subscribers. However, the average spending per order is similar. The Ministry noted that membership subscriptions mainly offer benefits related to delivery fees. Additionally, the survey of added value communication businesses showed a major reliance on AI for service development, highlighting challenges such as skilled personnel shortages and regulatory uncertainties.
