Following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Cuba in 2023, new travel opportunities to Cuba are unfolding. The Cuban state-owned Gaviota Group is collaborating with Korean travel agency Tourmin to launch honeymoon and leisure travel products. Destinations include the historic city of Havana, the vibrant Varadero beach, and the scenic Vinales Valley, which showcases Cuba’s natural beauty. These offerings aim to attract the MZ generation (a Korean term referring to Millennials and Gen Z, known for seeking unique experiences) with cultural experiences, such as vintage cars, jazz clubs, and culinary tours including cigars and rum. The initiative includes exclusive travel services such as VIP reception at the airport and all-inclusive resort stays, making Cuba an appealing option for Korean travelers.
