The beaches along the east coast of Gangwon Province in South Korea have started opening for the summer vacation season, beginning with Gangneung's Gyeongpo Beach. Between now and July 19th, 86 beaches will open for visitors. Gangneung City is hosting events like the 'Beach Beer Festival' and 'Gyeongpo Summer Festival', with evening beach activities planned. Safety measures include deploying 663 safety personnel and installing jellyfish prevention nets. To combat overpriced services, a QR code system for reporting unfair pricing will be implemented. The city will also monitor and control illegal solicitation by businesses near the beach.
