South Korean ballet dancer Jeon Min-chul, aged 21, is set to debut as a lead in the classic ballet 'La Bayadère' at the prestigious Mariinsky Ballet in Russia on July 17. This marks the first time a Korean dancer has been fast-tracked to a soloist role without undergoing the ensemble stage at Mariinsky, known for its strong Russian tradition. Jeon Min-chul's rapid ascent is seen as a new milestone in Korean ballet, following in the footsteps of fellow Korean superstar Kim Ki-min. The decision reflects Jeon's exceptional performance skills and his award-winning background. Before his lead role, Jeon will perform in 'Swan Lake' to acclimatize to the stage.
