The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced its strategic plan to attract 20 million foreign visitors by 2025. The plan includes eight key projects aiming for rapid recovery and growth in the tourism sector. These projects involve aggressive marketing campaigns, such as the 'K-Tourism Roadshow' across major global cities like New York, Beijing, and Tokyo. The strategy focuses on diverse markets with tailored approaches, creating new marketing outposts in developing cities. Furthermore, the KTO plans to integrate Korean daily life with tourism through collaborations with various industries, and promote themes like beauty, cuisine, and shopping. The use of cultural icons, such as K-pop, and sports like e-sports and taekwondo, will be intensified to expand Korea’s cultural influence globally. Efforts are also being made to bolster local tourism and improve travel services for foreigners. For instance, they plan to simplify transportation and payment services, aiming to make travel in Korea more accessible and enjoyable for international visitors.
