The Intentionally Forgotten Place... Landscape Left with Senses

Artist Jang Jae-min omits historical and ecological references from real locations in his paintings, attempting to rely on memory and imagination. His work transforms into a unique pictorial language, with paint flowing and blending on canvas like an island symbolic of both isolation and creation. Each painting becomes a record of fleeting sensations, influenced by intuition and chance, and challenges the identity of places through imaginary landscapes. Jang revisits the idea of an island as a space embodying both solitude and creativity, aiming to portray the mysterious and unfamiliar sensations of uncharted territories.
