Popularity Surge: Affordable CU 'Deuktem Series' Products

South Korean convenience store CU reports increased sales of its ultra-affordable 'Deuktem Series' products, including instant ramen, chicken breast, and eggs. The Deuktem Series offers a 480 Won ramen, significantly cheaper than usual, amid recent ramen price hikes to 2000 Won. Sales of 1900 Won chicken breast rose by 77.6% year-over-year, securing top spots in its category. With ongoing 'eggflation,' CU's affordable eggs also experienced a 31.5% rise in sales. Affordable milk products have sold nearly 4.5 million units, while 'get Coffee' maintains sales by retaining last year's prices. CU attributes this trend to heightened demand for budget-friendly options amidst rising consumer prices.
