A mass food poisoning outbreak related to Pulmuone bread has been confirmed in several locations in South Korea, including daycare centers and schools in Yongin, Naju, and Changwon. The incidents were traced back to consumption of bread items distributed by Pulmuone's subsidiary, Foodmerce, prior to a recall. The bread was found to be contaminated with Salmonella, causing symptoms in a total of 256 individuals across multiple regions. Health authorities have now halted sales of the affected products and expressed confidence that new infections are unlikely. Pulmuone is a well-known Korean food company, and its products are widely distributed in school cafeterias.
