On June 20, the new Busan Concert Hall hosted its opening ceremony and commemorative performance featuring Chung Myung-whun, the artistic director of Classical Busan. Renowned conductor and pianist, Chung, performed Beethoven's Triple Concerto, collaborating with the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra (APO), consisting of Asian musicians from global orchestras. Joined by Chinese cellist Jian Wang and Japanese violinist Sayaka Shoji, the trio delivered an impressive harmony of instruments. In the second part, Chung conducted Beethoven's Choral Symphony, skillfully leading the orchestra with dynamic gestures. Despite some audience misconduct, such as untimely applause and unauthorized recordings, the maestro's performance was applauded with standing ovations. The concert marked the inauguration of Busan's first classical venue, envisioning growth for local arts and classical music scene.
