Lee Sedol: AI Era is About Utilization and Collaboration, Not Competition

Lee Sedol, a special professor at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), delivered a lecture at the Seoul International Book Fair, focusing on 'The Future of Artificial Intelligence (AI)'. Famous for his historic match against the AI Go program AlphaGo in 2016, Sedol reflected on the transformation in the Go industry caused by AI advancements. He emphasized the importance of embracing AI and collaborating with it, rather than fearing or competing against it. Despite differences in perspectives with fellow speaker Kwai Do, Sedol advocated against regulating AI, particularly in critical fields like defense, healthcare, and finance, stressing AI's potential to propel advancements. He also expressed a positive outlook towards AI and its role in ensuring sustainable human existence.
