A recent study by the Korea Consumer Agency found that 9 out of 10 instant naengmyeon (Korean cold noodle) products sold in convenience stores have sodium levels exceeding half of the recommended daily intake. Some options even go beyond the daily limit of 2000 mg. The high sodium content primarily comes from the broth and sauce, which account for a significant portion of the total sodium. Consumers are advised to add protein-rich toppings like boiled eggs or meat instead of more noodles to balance nutrition and reduce sodium intake when consuming these dishes.
