The Shakespearean comedy 'Twelfth Night' is reimagined in the Joseon era by director Im Do-wan in the play staged by the National Theater Company of Korea. This version maintains the original storyline while infusing elements of traditional Korean theater, such as vibrant costumes, rhythmic musical instruments like the buk and kkwaenggwari (traditional Korean percussion instruments), and regional dialects for comedic effect. The performance encourages a relaxed atmosphere through an 'open seating' arrangement, allowing freedom of movement for the audience, including those with disabilities, children, and autism spectrum disorder attendees. The play will be shown at Myeongdong Theater in Seoul until November 6, with tours to other cities following.
