From Pansori to Lee Nal-chi and Flamenco: World Sori Festival Program Revealed

The Jeonju World Sori Festival, to be held from August 13 to 17 in Jeonju, South Korea, will feature a variety of performances including traditional pansori, innovative sanjo, and fusion bands. The festival aims to highlight the blend of traditional and contemporary music, featuring 57 programs and 69 performances. Key events include reinterpretations of Korean folktales and performances by acclaimed artists. International acts such as a Japanese traditional wind instrument show and a Flamenco performance commemorating 75 years of diplomatic ties with Spain are also part of the lineup. The festival concludes with a unique dance performance by the Eunmi Ahn Company, honoring movements of dancing grandmothers from across Korea.
