Starbucks in Cheongju Offers Rewards for Returning Disposable Cups

Starting on the 17th, Starbucks stores in Cheongju, South Korea, are implementing a program where customers can earn 'Eco Stars' by returning disposable plastic cups. The returned cups will be recycled into materials such as bed filler and auto interiors. The initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, aims to promote recycling by allowing users to collect Eco Stars for returning PET cups. Five cups are needed to earn one Eco Star, which can be used towards free drinks or size upgrades for members with 'Green' status.
