In 2025, the Gangwon Gallery will launch a major exhibition titled "Gangwon – Capturing the Landscapes," in Seoul. The exhibition aims to expand the reach of Gangwon art, showcasing works by 30 local artists focusing on the region's stunning natural landscapes, including the mountainous and coastal areas around the Taebaek mountain range. This event is part of "Gangwon Tourism Year," and highlights how local artists have developed a unique artistic identity by drawing inspiration from the diverse scenery of Gangwon Province. The exhibition emphasizes 'realistic landscape painting,' a genre that revisits the artistic trends of the 1980s. This cultural showcase will also travel to Incheon and feature solo art shows from selected artists later in the year.
