The original musical 'That Summer' has recently premiered in Daehakro, drawing upon the nostalgia of early 2000s Korean melodramatic films. This musical adaptation is based on the 2006 film starring Lee Byung-hun and Soo Ae, set during Korea's turbulent modern history. Following the storyline of the film, it narrates the tale of two university students, Seok-young and Jeong-in, as they navigate their unexpected romantic journey in the summer of 1969. Despite being a small-scale production, the musical revitalizes the storyline's emotional depth through rich music and choreography. Directed by Lee Soo-in, who emphasizes themes of resilience and growth from life's hardships, the musical highlights timeless emotional resonance. It's currently showing at Interpark Seojung Square until March 2.
