Seokang Seok, the new head of the Gangbuk Cultural Foundation (a local cultural organization in a district of Seoul, South Korea), is committed to making art a part of everyday life in Gangbuk District. Since his appointment in November 2022, the foundation has gained recognition, receiving its first 'S' grade in management evaluation, expanding its staff, and increasing wages. Seok has emphasized community involvement, launching initiatives like 'Gangbuk Festa' and small local art galleries in schools. The foundation will host performances in its newly reopened theaters and introduce a new '4·19 Theatre Festival' to honor the local historical significance of the April 19th Movement (a pro-democracy movement in South Korea).
