American artist James Turrell returns to Seoul after 17 years with his exhibition 'The Return' at Pace Gallery, showcasing five installations including 'Wedgework' and 'Glassworks'. Turrell is renowned for his exploration of light, using techniques like LED lighting to create deep spatial experiences. His works encourage reflection as they blend colors like blue and yellow to produce white light. Turrell's famed 'Skyspaces' are immersive experiences allowing observers to perceive the sky uniquely, and his largest to date will open at ARoS in Denmark. The exhibition lasts until September 27, but due to its popularity, reservations are required as weekends are already fully booked. Turrell, who has a close connection to Korea through his painter wife and past military service, hopes to share a piece of light through art without claiming it to be the most crucial thing in the world.
