The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Seoul is holding its first permanent exhibition, showcasing 86 pieces of modern Korean art over half a century, thanks to the donation of the Lee Kun-hee Collection. Works range from experimental to world-renowned artists like Kim Whanki. The exhibition centers on Korea's evolving art scene, featuring six themes from abstraction to documentary, including interactions with global art movements post-1990s. This expansion was largely enabled by the Lee Kun-hee Collection's valuable contributions, allowing MMCA to shift towards permanent exhibitions.
