Recent data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency shows that the most consumed beverage among Korean adults is unsweetened coffee, like Americano. The agency analyzed dietary habits over the past five years and found an increase in beverage consumption overall, with unsweetened coffee leading the trend. Despite the increase in overall intake, sugar consumption decreased slightly, attributed to the rise in low-calorie and unsweetened drinks. However, they warned about the risk of excessive sugar consumption, especially in children and adolescents, who might develop chronic diseases in adulthood. The most significant increase in consumption was seen among people in their 30s.
