Sokcho Mayor Plans to Ease Traffic in Seoraksan During Peak Season

The city of Sokcho has entered a partnership to address the recurrent traffic congestion on the roads leading to Seoraksan National Park during peak tourist seasons. Mayor Lee Byeong-seon is collaborating with local entities to expand the entrance road from 8 meters to 12 meters, enabling new transportation systems like trams. Additionally, a new hiking trail will be developed, providing safe walking paths and showcasing the natural scenery of Seorak Mountain. These initiatives aim to boost local tourism competitiveness and promote regional economic development.
