The city of Yongin recently celebrated the 34th Cheoinsung Culture Festival, commemorating the victory, known as 'Cheoinsungcheop', over the Mongolian invasion during the Goryeo Dynasty. This event honors the spirit of patriotism shown by Buddhist monk Kim Yoon-hu and the people of Cheoin. The festival included various cultural performances, traditional experiences, and educational activities. Yongin's mayor expressed his hope for the festival to become a key educational site that attracts both domestic and international visitors, thereby spreading the historical significance of the Cheoinsung victory. This annual event started in 1986 and gained prominence for its role in preserving this crucial historical memory of victory against the Mongols.
