The Legendary 'First Birkin Bag' to Hit Auction Block

The original black leather Birkin Bag, used by the late British singer and actress Jane Birkin, is going on auction next month in Paris. Created in collaboration with Hermès CEO Jean-Louis Dumas in 1985, the bag originated from a chance encounter on an airplane where Birkin sketched her design idea. The Birkin Bag, now a symbol of luxury, had its first edition sold in 1994 for AIDS charity. This bag is being auctioned again, garnering significant attention due to its rarity and historical significance.
