Lavender Festivals in Donghae and Goseong: A Purple Temptation in Early Summer

In early summer, unique lavender-themed festivals are being held in the Goseong and Donghae regions of Gangwon, South Korea. The 18th Hanui Farm Lavender Festival runs until June 25 in Goseong, featuring lavender perfume extraction, aromatherapy spray making, and various performances. The site offers photogenic spots amidst romantic garden settings. Additionally, the Donghae Lavender Festival takes place at Samhwa-dong from June 14-22, set in a tourist complex developed on an old limestone mining site. The festival boasts a 20,000 square meter lavender garden with 13,000 lavender plants and offers a variety of events, including musical contests and a massive bubble show. Evening hours extend the festivities with shimmering illuminations on the lavender fields.
