The National Gugak Center in Korea is hosting the first Korean Classical Music Day, featuring various events at Gwanghwamun Square. Kicking off with a street parade on the 5th, the celebrations include performances, exhibits, and interactive experiences until the 15th. The festivities aim to promote the globalization and popularization of Korean traditional music (a genre known as 'Gugak'), which encompasses various styles including folk and court music. Highlights include performances by military bands and traditional dance preservation groups. Interactive booths and children's programs offer experience-based learning opportunities. Additionally, a healing program combining 'Gugak' and meditation will take place at Hangang's Jamsu Bridge. Events also extend to improvisation masterclasses and children’s song competitions, focusing on cultural education and engagement.
