The 33rd Young Theatre Festival, under the direction of Kim Jung-geun from Daekyung University, launched at Sungkyunkwan University's New Millennium Hall and runs for five weeks. Featuring 57 plays from 45 universities, it highlights Seoul's performing arts in venues like Quad Theatre and Daehangno. The festival includes a 'Running Plogging' charity event and programs aimed at theatre majors, offering workshops and seminars. Notably, Japan's Nihon University will perform 'Electra' on June 6-7 as part of the festival's global initiative. Supported by the Seoul Cultural Foundation, the event emphasizes regional cultural balance and is attended by key figures including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
