Nol Universe claims that non-refundable booking options on accommodation platforms are not consumer penalties but rather discounted options. During a joint conference, Osuh Yeong of Nol Universe argued that non-refundable terms are part of contract freedom and therefore not unfair, opposing a previous ruling by South Korea’s FTC. The Supreme Court had sided with Booking.com, stating the FTC’s order was unjust. Discussions also covered various consumer law issues like airline mileage and probability-based items.
