South Korea's Popular Snack 'Pepero' Expands Globally

Pepero, a well-known South Korean snack by Lotte Wellfood, aims to become a global mega-brand with sales reaching 1 trillion won. Launched in 1983, Pepero gained massive popularity, especially after the advent of 'Pepero Day', similar to Valentine's Day, held on November 11th where people give Pepero to their loved ones. The brand collected over 2.2 trillion won in sales till last year. This year, K-pop group Stray Kids has been named as Pepero's global ambassador, and they plan to enhance Pepero’s diverse appeal worldwide. As a part of the initiative, international creators are participating in a contest named 'Pepero Agent: P'. The winners will visit South Korea to experience Pepero Day and promote it globally. Lotte recently invested in establishing Pepero's first overseas production base in India, aiming to further expand in Asia and North America.
