The National Folk Museum of Korea in Seoul is hosting a special exhibition titled "Today, Commemoration: Why We Keep Souvenirs" from April 27 to September 14. The exhibition explores the culture of commemoration prevalent in modern life and symbolic souvenirs representing personal and collective memories. It focuses on three aspects: personal life milestones, communal memories, and tourism souvenirs. Highlights include a 1945 calendar and a BTS light stick. The exhibition also features newly disclosed items such as a portrait of Yi Yong-ik, a pro-Russian bureaucrat of the Korean Empire, and a photo commemorating the proclamation of the constitution.
