General Motors (GM) Korea recently held a meeting with its labor union to discuss the future of their operations. During this session, GM Korea emphasized their plans to increase investment in internal combustion engine vehicles and to maintain export competitiveness. Despite achieving good results in production and exports, the domestic market sales have been declining. The company's local sales target for this year is set at 18,000 units, drastically reduced from over 180,000 units a decade ago. To address this, GM Korea disclosed their intent to expand their lineup and improve the workforce. Additionally, a temporary shutdown of their Incheon plant is scheduled for July to August for maintenance work.
