In Patagonia, South America, a rare helicopter rescue mission was conducted, drawing attention from many climbers. The availability of a small four-seater Robinson 44 helicopter for tourist flights and unusually clear weather allowed this operation. On April 4th, two pairs of female climbers descending Mount Fitz Roy's slopes faced an accident that led to serious injuries. The rescue team, unable to reach the site by helicopter due to its size, was flown to parts of the route and had to walk 12 hours to the injured climbers. This marks the first time a helicopter assisted in the deployment of rescue personnel in Patagonia. Previously, in 2014, a similar helicopter crashed, resulting in the pilot's death. The injured climbers were successfully evacuated the following day.
