Jang Guk-bo is a renowned Korean sculptor with 45 years of experience, specializing in stone sculptures. His works, often featuring expressive human faces, reflect the emotional highs and lows of life. Based in Goseong, Gangwon Province, he first fell in love with sculpting in college and has since created masterpieces like 'My Story', 'Return', 'Observance', 'Escape', and 'Little Frame' using granite from Youngju Mountain. His storytelling-based sculptures gained substantial attention at the 14th Seoul International Sculpture Festa. Jang showcases his art at the permanent gallery Jang Guk-bo Sculpture Garden in Goseong and won the "Work of the Year" award at MBC's modern sculpture exhibition in 2009. He participates in numerous international art events, and despite the demanding nature of striking stone with a chisel and hammer up to 30,000 times a day, he finds unmatched joy in the final outcome. Jang, a member of various art associations, pledges to continue sculpting for the rest of his life.
